I just learned today that a dear friend of my grandparents was killed in a car accident last week. Her funeral is today. This woman and her husband sat next to me at the event I threw for my grandfather back in April. She had previous problems with her health but on this night she looked radiant. Now, she is gone. I was walking around the shopping area outside of the base and found it amusing to see so many young Korean girls who were rocking “Hip Hop Video chick” or the “Hood Chick” attire. A few days ago I made the decision to disconnect my stateside mobile, disable my facebook account, and limit my contact home to one day a week. The fact that I was traveling with two girls who were starting to get on my last damn nerves drain my energy, traveling so quickly was becoming overwhelming, and I was still trying to keep up with what was going on at home I was feeling like I was running on E.
