I am an extremely complex yet ridiculously simple woman who loves traveling, great music, boxing, a good documentary, meeting new and interesting people, and being creative. I am very laid back, spiritually aware, attentive to every detail, deeply concerned, and I definitely march to the beat of my own drum. On top of all that good stuff I’m still a little rough around the edges which I actually love about myself
A few years ago I had reached a point in my life where I was unsure of myself, depression was my sole companion, and unhappiness was the norm. I had achieved a six figure salary by my early 20s, lived a decent lifestyle, traveled often and in style, and acquired many material things…and in one blink of an eye I was very close to losing it all and I didn’t care.
Enough was enough! In 2011, I moved back to a place where the seed of my pain had been planted with the sole purpose of going to therapy and putting in the work that was necessary for me to finally deal with and rid myself of all that was weighing me down. By April 23, 2012, less than a year later, I had given away 90% of my worldly possessions and left my life behind to embark on a year long journey around the world. After so many years of wallowing in unhappiness behind closed doors I wanted to live out loud and do the one thing on this earth that truly made me happy…traveling. I also wanted to learn more about who I was minus the titles, businesses, material possessions, and the ridiculous expectations I had set for myself.
My blog is filled with photos and stories about my physical and spiritual journey, inspirational messages, random thoughts, nonsensical musings, my dry humor, and the lessons I learn along the way. Join me as I attempt to define “happy” in my own words while encouraging others to do the same.
Peace and Blessings,
Miss Venus

Yes, I left sooner than initially planned but it was for the best. I’m sorry I forgot to call. I was so busy before I left…I’m surprised I remembered to bring my backpack.
Thank you for always being in my corner. You know I’m beyond grateful for that.
Keep me in your prayers.
