My time is Bali has been OK so far. As I mentioned before Kuta and Seminyak seem to be overly touristy with bars and nightclubs and a whole lot of things that I’m just not really interested in for this trip.
I’ve had a few hiccups like the fact that I moved from the hostel to a hotel in the middle of the night. I was asked to move to another room in the hostel since all the girls had checked out. I didn’t mind the move and don’t really blame them for saving on the electricity bill but they moved me in to a room that smelled like mildew and mold 😐 I try not to make a big deal of things and I thought maybe the smell would go away once the air conditioner was turned on and the room aired out a bit. NEGATIVE. The smell was so bad that within 10 seconds of being in the room I got a headache. Since I kinda need to breathe to stay alive I thought I’d ask to be moved back to my original room which shouldn’t have been a big deal since it is the one I reserved in the first place. Well apparently my issue with clean air was a joke to the staff as they discussed my “issue” over in their language and a loud chuckle concluded the chatter. I was told that this was not possible and they would spray freshener. Whaaaaaaa? YES!! Because we all know that it is a scientific fact that cheap air freshener completely eliminates mold and mildew 😐 Anwyay, long story short. A boss was called he said NO I can’t be moved. For $14 and because I’d prefer not to die in my sleep from inhaling random deadly substances I searched the internet for another place to stay. And to the surprise of the staff I checked out the hostel at 1045pm and carried myself to a hotel instead. Boop!
This mini crisis would have been averted had I checked out as planned that morning. But at the last minute the Curacaoan that I met at the hostel in Singapore decided she wanted to join me in Bali for a few days. After my semi disastrous birthday last year I promised myself I’d spend the next one A-LONE. But I didn’t want to be mean. Especially when the chick just up and bought a ticket hours after she had decided it was too expensive. She ran all around Singapore trying to find a cheaper travel agent.
Let us all bow our heads in prayer: Lawd Jeeeebus…please let me have a good birthday this year. I’ve been a good girl.. I promise. Amen
The lesson of the day is: When life give you lemons (or when life thinks you’re going to sleep in a room where the air quality is so bad that you’ll obtain some rare form of lung disease and be forced to drag an oxygen tank around for the rest of your life (I know this is overly dramatic and extra but just ignore that and keep reading) throw the damn things back and move on to Plan B.
Loved the hotel room and the pool!! did u get in the pool? you look absolutely fab too! loving the hair!
I didn’t actually. The few times I wanted to jump in there were kids in there. I’d rather not swim in pee 😉 Thank you my hair is hanging in there.
Look at your hair!!!! Loves it!
