I was recently on a telephone conversation trying to gather some information for a move I’m trying to make in regard to my career. The cat on the phone seemed more than eager to tell me that what I was trying to accomplish was “impossible”. He had repeated this word about 5 times in a matter of seconds. Before I knew it I had completely shut him down by replying, “I’m so sorry to interrupt you but the word “impossible” is not in my vocabulary. I will just find another way.” Clearly stunned by my response the man snickered and continued to tell me how I could not reach my goal, albeit excluding the word “impossible” . Wasn’t that gracious of him? 😐
When faced with a road block that may come in the form of discouragement or a door shut in your face do you turn around and walk away with your head held down or find another route?
I have always done the latter. I actually love it when people tell me I can’t do something. It just fuels my determination or that fire in my belly and makes me want to accomplish that goal even more.
Not so much to prove this person wrong but to reinforce the fact that I CAN do anything I put my mind to. It may not be easy and it may take longer than expected but trust and believe…. it will get done.
Don’t ever allow anyone to talk you out of your dreams. No matter how outlandish they may seem to some people they don’t have the final say. Doors may be closed in your face, you may hear the word NO a zillion times…but keep moving forward, working hard, and believing in your heart that you CAN and you WILL.
To Negative Nino, who I was speaking with on the phone, I honor you with the “Pee on that cat” award. *For you new readers to my blog “Pee on that cat” is a saying my Grandma uses when someone needs to be disregarded. Similar to an eye roll or a “forget him/her”. I find it comes in handy more often than not
