Note: I’m going to try my best to rate each city/country that I pass through. It will all be based on scientific evidence (stop laughing) and any other random factors that I want to add to the equation:-)
Although I was only in Bangkok for a few days I can definitely say that it wasn’t so much my cup of tea. I’ve traveled enough to know that my travel style is a bit more laid back so the chaos and hustle and bustle aren’t really my thing. (Please remind me that I said that when I get to India). I was quite fascinated by the temples as I am a lover of architecture, however, after living in Korea for a year and NYC if you’ve seen one day/night/weekend market you’ve seen them all. I will say that I had never before seen one with a DJ spinning dopeness on the ones and two’s. I either sold or gave away 90% of my belongings before I starting my journey so the last thing I want to do is acquire more things. But for those who can’t resist the idea of spending a lil cash on bedazzled buddha statues, faux designer bags, “birkenstocks”, clothes, and pretty damn authentic looking beats by dre headphones then Bangkok is your spot. I’m sure it had much more to offer but I just kept having the feeling that I had been there before. Which in my book meant….next!
I don’t want to end this post in a completely negative tone so I will add in some good points. I loved the ease of getting around on public transportation. I’ve taken both the trains and the local buses and except for that expensive and totally unnecessary bus ride around the corner it was a breeze.
Overall, my few days in Bangkok were cool. I met some great ladies from all over the world in the hostel and had loads of laughs. One city down and a million more to go.
Farewell Bangkok..Sawadee Ka Phuket!
